Dear Beachcomber,
Me and my gals rented one of the two newest houses on the hill, across from you, last week. If it weren't for you, we would have gone hungry. If it weren't for you, we would have gone thirsty. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have EVER met your steamy staff. If it weren't for you, we would have listened to a LOT less reggae. And most importantly, if it weren't for you, our summers would NOT be complete! Thank you, Beachcomber, for all that you are. Until next summer, with hopefully one less Tropical Storm Danny, keep us in the loop.
Warmest regards,
Jaime
PS: Todd, he kicks ass.
(thanks, Jaime! we will.)

the last hurrah
Well apparently somebody blinked and now here we are, at the tail end of another summer. How can it possibly be September? Fortunately Labor Day is late this year, so we still have a few days before we officially kiss summer goodbye.
Let's make the most of it, shall we?
First, Easy Star All-Stars will be here Friday, September 4, 10pm ($20)!
This is one of those shows where you should stop reading, click the link at the end of the paragraph, get your tickets and then finish reading.
Easy Star All-Stars has played at major festivals and headlined shows in over 20 countries on 5 continents. Their worldwide album sales have surpassed 250,000 units since 2003, with Dub Side of the Moon spending over 5 years on Billboard’s Reggae Chart. MOJO picked Dub Side as the second best cover album of all time. Radiodread spent almost 2 years on Billboard’s Reggae Chart and earned praise from the members of Radiohead themselves.

And then we have two nights with Spiritual Rez!
Spiritual Rez is a 6 piece reggae horn funk party. Having released two independent records, the band has played with international acts like Jimmy Buffett, Culture, Israel Vibration and Buju Banton as well as have founding Parliament Funkadelic member Bernie Worrell sit in on their live shows.
Spiritual Rez won the 2007 Boston Music Award for Best World Music Act. A unique blend of Reggae, Funk and Afrobeat, this is one of the most energetic live shows around.

Incredible Casuals
Who knows what special guests will grace the Comber stage this year? What do those Casuals have up their sleeves? Come and find out - and have something to smile about until next May.
On Monday we serve what's left to be served and pour what's left to be poured. It's a good time and you should stop by and hang with us one more day.
But wait! We're not done yet!
Not everything we do happens right here in Cahoon Hollow. Every year we sponsor a charity golf tournament, and this year is no different. We're golfing at Chequessett Yacht and Country Club on September 13. Won't you come? See our website for more information and ways to donate: http://www.thebeachcomber.com/golf/
And has anyone else noticed that the week of October 17 is still available at the Comber cottages? And that Oysterfest is the 17th and 18th? Check out the cottages and save your date now! http://www.thebeachcomber.com/cottages/
Wellfleet Oysterfest: http://www.wellfleetoysterfest.org/
It's hard to imagine a bad week here (that's not in February). Pick your date, pack your fishing rod, throw in a good book and get ready to kick back and listen to the surf. If we weren't already here, we'd totally rent those cottages ourselves.
So happy September everybody! We can't wait to see you this weekend. And beyond!
