Band Fashion - David Lowery

A couple years ago I wrote an article on band fashion because really, who doesn't want to read about band fashion? Having just been to the Cracker show at the Comber, I asked David Lowery first. This is what he said:

I have to credit some of my fashion sensibility to my girlfriend/manager, Velena Vego.

She has been a concert promoter for 18 years and is also a tri-delt. So rock with southern prep.

I'm half English and southern. So the two of us fit together in some way.

For years I dressed better off stage, or at least more conservative offstage. The grunge years were very difficult for me. I dont like baggy clothes.

I am secretly a mathematician who happens to be in a rock band. Hence the underlying collegiate look.

The pseudo western suede jacket was from the vintage store behind the 40 watt. The plaid tie and belt from an urban outfitters. The green gingham shirt was from the old navy in Cambridge. 8 bucks.

And how can you ever go wrong. with classic black converse.

Here's the pseudo western suede in action (5/28/08)
